Excellence in Certified Automotive Training (ECAT)
The E - C A T program from The Council of Automotive Repair dedicates to quality in automotive education by addressing the following:
-
First and foremost we do not want to waste your technicians time or your
money with an educational presentation that is over or under his/her skill level.
-
We will pre-screen all proposed presentations and instructors to ensure that
the class content addresses current industry needs.
-
Where possible a Pre-Qualifying Quiz will be offered with each Training Class
announcement. The instructor should prepare the quiz to address the area or
level of knowledge particular to the class goal and to give a glimpse as to what
the tech should expect to gain from the training. With this you and/or your
tech will have an understanding of areas to brush up on prior to class.
-
The Text and/or Reference material will have all questions answered or have
an Answer Sheet to accompany such, thus giving a better tool to use after the
training.
-
Instructors will ask students to only take notes or to right something down
upon his request or after the presentation. Where possible these notes will be
included with the materials.
-
Instructors will refrain from using your class time as a selling platform.
Where information about a particular tool or product is necessary to accomplish
the lesson an exception may be considered. At the end of class those who
want to hear any sales promotion can stay while the others are dismissed
